Nomina – Amadlozi

„Nomina is an artist and performer with a rather distinctive approach to songwriting. One of the most impressive things about her work is definitely the fact that she combines different influences under one roof. Namely, Nomina set out to combine charming and timeless pop melodies, with the groove and feel of African music.

As a result, her tracks bring the best of these two worlds together, with an infectious combination of rhythm and amazing melodies that won’t get out of your head so easily! Recently, Nomina released a brand new single, titled “Amadlozi.” This song is going to be right up your alley if you enjoy pop music with a different twist, so don’t let it fly under your radar!

One of the first things that you might notice is indeed the color of the production.  The tone of this release really allows the mix to stand out for its clarity and depth. The low end is really fat and punchy, while the mid-range is warm, but never harsh. In addition to that, the top end has a nice, silky tone that really contributes to a smooth sounding mix that puts the vocals at the forefront. Nomina’s work certainly has a character of its own, as opposed to simply trying to copy other influences along the way.

Ultimately, this would definitely be a good fit with your heavy rotation if you enjoy artists such as Alicia Keyes, Sia, Destiny’s Child, as well as Black Motion, and Black Coffee, just to mention a few! From the amazing sound of electronic music, down to the stunning feel of soul, R&B, and pretty much anything in between. I really love to see artists who have such a rich background, with many influences. This is definitely the case in Nomina’s music, and this diverse twist is what makes her work even more interesting and diverse! If you’re in the mood for something truly special, give this one a go!“
